"My clients are wonderful people."

Just a little information: Each Fall people looking to make a little extra money take a tax course from H&R Block, learn to use H&R Block Tax Software, and do a heck of a lot of tax returns for people.  There are many other similar, yet smaller companies that do the same.  The preparer makes a little money, H&R Block makes a good profit, and the IRS makes more money.  The question you might ask yourself is, “How good can a person be at saving me money, who  only takes a pre-season tax course, doesn’t know who I am, and doesn’t keep in touch with me during the year?  The answer is: Good for the IRS, but bad for you.  This isn't just my humble opinion.  The Goverment Accounting Office tested 19 of them and found that not even one of them prepared the sample return correctly. (IRS Return Preparer Review December, 2009).

Turbo Tax: People go down to their local Costco and purchase a copy of Turbo Tax Software hoping to save money by preparing their taxes themselves.  They get all of their documentation together, put on a pot of coffee, sit down, and strap in for a ride from hell known as the, “Turbo Tax Interview Process”.
Seriously folks, the Turbo Tax Interview may truly be the most painful procedure ever devised to try the patience of once sane people. And the promise of receiving every tax deduction possible? I use software in my everyday life, and it can be very useful, but do you really expect me to believe that Turbo Tax has created perfect software? There is no such thing. Why is it so hard to find an advertiser who wants to tell me the truth?

I realize that the only two true guarantees in life are death and taxes. And yes, I also realize that death sometimes seems the lesser of two evils, but I am here to tell you that there is an easier way. A way to take care of your taxes that is both simple and can be pain free. I have actually hear it described as being enjoyable.

Now let's get down to what you are really worried about.  How much is it going to cost me?  A good tax accountant will save you more than you will ever pay them.  So to be quite honest, the actual cost is zero, though no matter what I tell you, you are still going to want to know how much you have to write the check for, so here are my current rates, and yes I could charge more, but I seem to be missing the greed gene:

Basic Personal Income Tax Preparation: $150
Add a sole propietor for an additional: $200
Additional Time if necessary: $100 per hour

Basic Corporate, Partnership, Non-Profit, etc: $400
Additional Time if necessary: $100 per hour

Quickbooks and Accounting Support: $100 per hour

Financial Planning: $100 per hour

I care about people. I want my clients to do well. My clients know that they can call me, email me, or text me, all year long, and that I will be there to help them out. They know that I will contact them during the year to see how they are doing and to see if I can recognize an opportunity that might help them come tax time. My clients are wonderful people who become good friends.
